Danmark

I guess what I want to get out of this little journey is having people show me where they go to be happy and/or to be relaxed. Happiness can look so different and come from so many different places. If I can come home inspired and with new knowledge of how I can integrate that in my own life, I will have succeeded. Of course, just being on the road, hanging out, and just live life in general is a reward in itself. But still. Would be cool.

In Köpenhamn I had the opportunity to spend a night at Alice and Daniel’s. They brought me to their favourite döner place (didn’t know kebab was quite as big a thing in Denmark), a few bars and we also played a board game about being happy that Daniel has designed. The day after I went to finally check out Christiania for a few hours. A very interesting place indeed. I didn’t really know what to expect but… it was nice. I felt more at home there than I would’ve imagined. It would be cool to go there and explore it more in the summer, not just in the middle of the day on a weekday in September. More pictures in another post.

What I didn’t really expect was Daniel suggesting us going to his summer house on the northwestern coast of whateverland is the Köpenhamn island. A truly amazing place.

A place to unwind and relax. Eating good food, drinking Tuborg, going swimming, talking, watching the stars and all that good stuff you do at a summer house. I kinda felt like I was shedding a layer of stress being there.

Already looking forward to coming back. Would really love to try out kite surfing on that amazing beach. I went there today again when Daniel was working for a run and another swim. My pictures really doesn’t do it justice though.

It’s interesting how much you appreciate the things you don’t know you needed or wanted, when you actually get them. Chilling on the danish coast was definitely one of these things.

Also, get yourself someone who looks at you like Daniel looks at his son while saying good night.
